Working Mom :(

This past week has been a little rough on me, I have seen my daughter Daniella go through this stage where she wants me to be around more telling me not to go to work. That breaks my heart!! I'm I full time working mom. My commute to work is usually around an hour and a half, geeze and going home sometimes takes me two hours because of all the Holiday Traffic. She cries when I'm home that she misses me. If I'm not around she cries to her dad that she wants me to be home. So I dedicated my whole weekend to my lil munchkin, we went to build-a-bear to leave her broken bears so that are being sewn back up. Sunday we went to the mall where she took a picture with Santa and then went home to watch all the Cinderella movies (3 in total LOL). Seeing her smile just makes my day!

New Traditions

The best part of having your own little family, is the tradition that you can create. I decided to start a new Rodriguez Family Tradition by creating an Advent Calendar. Cant wait to go day by day and do something special dedicated to Christmas. Today was December 2nd and Daniella found some cool Disney Princess Tattoos. I will leave the weekend days for more intricate things such as, ginger bread house decorating, Pictures with Santa, Family game night, Baking with mom. Now that she's 4 years old she is more excited in whats to come this month of December. Below are some pictures of the advent calendar and also some of our Christmas tree.

Advent Calendar Details: I bought the Advent Calendar from Michaels Craft Store the company that sells them is called ArtMinds. Paint is Craft Smart Lime Green, Holiday Red, Silver & Glitter Silver Paint. All the Accessories are also from Michaels Craft Store they were actually buttons but I cut off the backings and hot glued them on each day of the drawers. The Santa, Snowman, Gingerbread & Candy Cane are Wood pieces also made from ArtMinds.

New Beginnings

Hello World

For some time I have abandoned my blog because I always thought the things I created where not good enough to share. But I have changed that, I believe the things that I make are amazing, and the time I dedicate to make things are worth it for me. So starting now I'm going to blog about whatever tickles my pickle. 2013 is going to be an awesome year for me and my blog.

Kiwi Lane- Clara Lane

Hello Blog World

I was introduced to Kiwi Lane when I saw their booth at the NJ Scrapbook Expo. I thought what a cool way to scrapbook simple and easy. I created this layout with the Clara Lane Border and some MME paper. Love how you can use all the paper in a pack and get  a beautiful layout. I look forward to purchasing more Kiwi Lane Borders for more fun creations.

Props for Engagment Photos Using Cricut

A couple of months back I was asked by my good friend Michelle to do some props for her Engagement Photos. I jumped at that opportunity and I must say I'm so happy by how it came out. I totally loved it. I used the elegant edges cricut catridge, Story Book & Opposites Attract; I also distress Ink for the edges.

Take a look at how Romantic and Beautiful these pictures are. Congrats to the Happy Couple and for their kindness, support and encouragement.

For My Beautiful Granny!!!

My Granny which we call Fanita always held a great chunk of my heart her passing was and still is hard. At times I still get very emotional and break down. I ran across another blogger Velma at creativelyouttacontrol.blogspot.com her mom had recently passed away and I found something so touching that gave me so much inspiration to work on a canvas to display in my home. The words that she displayed under her mom picture made me see someone passing in a different way.

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow,
but remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles.
I've only gone to rest a little while.
Although my leaving causes
pain and grief, my going has eased
my hurt and given relief.
Do dry your eyes and remember me
not as I am now, but as I used to be,
because I will remember you all
and look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts I've only
gone to rest a little while. As long as
I have the love of each of you
I can live my life in the hearts of all of you

So I want to remember my granny is her most Diva-ish look. I created this Layout using Webster Pages Hollywood Paper and added ribbon and bling for a perfect vintage/modern look.

I know pics are a lil dark i will get better at pics I promise :)
